Scientific name:
Chlamydosaurus kingii meaning “King’s cloaked lizard”
Whenever it feels threatened, the Frilled Neck Lizard thrashes its tail, hisses aggressively and erects a brightly-coloured frill of skin around its neck. With any luck, its startled enemy will hesitate, giving the Frilled Neck a momentary chance to flee. Despite their bluff, they have a nasty bite!
