The Great or Eastern Grey Kangaroo and its close cousin, the Western Grey, are members of Australia’s most famous family of marsupials, or pouched mammals. In fact, only female marsupials have a pouch. Every Grey Kangaroo ‘joey’ lives for about 11 months in its mother’s pouch.
