Rhincodon typus meaning “blunt-nosed fish”

The harmless Whale Shark is the world’s largest fish.  Its upper surface is blue-grey to brownish with light spots.  Despite their tiny, hooked teeth, Whale Sharks are filter feeders, sieving food through their gills.
